born and raised in Cairo, is a filmmaker. As a dramaturge she supervised the project "Black Land" in cooperation with the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection Berlin. Interculturally, she facilitates the Egyptian side of the project.

is an Egyptian professor and founding dean of the 'College of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage' at the 'Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport' in Aswan, Egypt. In her newly introduced master's program, students will collaborate with the Swiss team on the Schepenese project as part of their curriculum. Workshops and an exchange program in Aswan and St. Gallen are planned. Monica Hanna is part of the experts committee. As an Egyptologist, she is actively involved in the repatriation of looted cultural objects.
